Here's what's changed in Smart Collect® — and why it matters to your service desk.

A minor release that adds a new smart vending range and sharpens control across the whole application — from how you tag locker cells to how the platform warns you when something needs attention.

• IDEA Series smart vending. The flagship vending range joins Smart Collect®, with spiral-free conveyor dispensing, break-proof glass, customisable modular shelves and an HD display — engineered to handle delicate IT peripherals without damage.
• Cell TAGs. Assign tags to individual smart locker cells — such as ADA-compliant or power and ethernet-enabled — and require that pick-ups and deposits are made against cells carrying those tags, now including the locker pick-up action.
• Proactive monitoring and alerting. Device status monitoring extends to the new range, with alerts for failed locker API calls, cell desynchronisation and unacknowledged expired requests — and automatic service requests raised to the Smart Locker Support Group.
• Loaner extension controls. Configurable properties set the maximum number of loaner extensions and the maximum extension duration, so loan periods stay within policy.
• Stock and mapping improvements. Automatic stock replenishment requests now cover stockrooms as well, catalogue-item mapping is smarter when multiple models across locations qualify, and SCTASK behaviour on request cancellation is more consistent.

A major release that brings smart vending into the Smart Collect® range for the first time and delivers new features and improvements across the whole application.

• Casia Series smart vending. A new dispensing range for IT peripherals and consumables, using a belt-driven mechanism and tool-free channel and partition repositioning for easy on-site reconfiguration. It supports the full Smart Collect® feature set, and the entire device range is CE and UL certified.
• Agent Workspace integration. The incident break/fix capabilities are now available through the dedicated Agent Workspace interface, so agents work where they already are.
• Configurable fulfilment routing. Set the default behaviour for whether a user is directed to standard or smart locker fulfilment, and let agents cancel locker orders — stock, order, return or parcel deposit — when a flow needs to be interrupted manually.
• Clearer notifications and stock page. Over 60 off-the-shelf email notifications with a consistency review, plus a reconciliation summary showing available cells per size, intuitive colour-coding and advanced filters hidden by default for a cleaner interface.
• Robustness in customised tenants. Application variables were renamed across all script references to avoid collisions with customised ServiceNow environments, and new info and error messages eliminate silent failures when a fulfilment flow can't proceed.
